1. Identify the number one stronghold that's holding you back.


Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:2


2. Name the truth that demolishes that stronghold.

How do you deal with and love the hypocrites in your life?


Why are they acting like this?


1. Maybe they don't really know God.


Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

1 John 2:4


2. Maybe they don't know any better yet.


1 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:1


3. Maybe they do know better but they still disobey God


16 Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.

1 Peter 2:16


How we prayerfully approach people?


1. God help me confront with a heart to restore.


1a Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.

Galatians 6:1a 



2. God help me to approach carefully.


1b Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

Galatians 6:1b 


3. God help me see when I'm the hypocrite.


19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

How do we help and Love people in need without actually hurting them?


1. We want to give strategically.


Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.

Acts 3:3-7


2. We serve wisely.


35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with him searched for him, 37 and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.”

3. We're going to trust completely.


Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

How do we respond to critical people?


1. Often, you don't respond


23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.

1 Peter 2:23


11  Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.

2. Sometimes, you respond carefully.


1 Then the men of Ephraim said to him, “What is this that you have done to us, not to call us when you went to fight against Midian?” And they accused him fiercely. And he said to them, “What have I done now in comparison with you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the grape harvest of Abiezer? God has given into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. What have I been able to do in comparison with you?” Then their anger against him subsided when he said this.

3. Occasionally, you listen and you make a change.


31  The ear that listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise. 32  Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.

4. You always work to guard your heart.


18 There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

How to deal with controlling people?


What are the weapons that controlling people use?


Threats and guilt.


22 And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you.” 23 But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.” 24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Matthew 16:22-24


How do we love those who are trying to control and manipulate us.

  1. Know what you are called to do.
  2. Know when someone is trying to control you.
  3. Know when it's time to draw a line in the sand.


The relationships you have are a combination of what you've created and what you've allowed.


If you don't like what you have, change what you expect and what you accept


What We Do Matters


12 The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, 15 to declare that the Lord is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Psalm 92:12-15


Your life is a seed.

1. A seed can only grow if it's planted.


And he told them many things in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

2. Going to church isn't the same as being planted.


What happens when you're planted?

1. Your roots grow deep.


He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

Jeremiah 17:8


2. The roots produce fruit.


What We Do Matters


1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Colossians 3:1-2


26 But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed?

What if we only knew then, what we know now?


How do we live with an eternal focus?

1. God owns everything.


14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property.

The tithe is a declaration of God's ownership.


30 “Every tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the Lord's; it is holy to the Lord.

Leviticus 27:30


36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

2. You will give to God an account.


19 Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; 11 for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” 12 So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.

To become a faithful steward, you have to see yourself as kingdom investors, rather than earthly spenders.


Miracle of Provision


In every story of need, there is a miracle of provision.


19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19


3 principles of God's miraculous provision.


1. When God guides, he always provides.


11 And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

Isaiah 58:11


Abraham said, “God will provide for himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they went both of them together.

Genesis 22:8


11 But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 12 He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.

Genesis 22:11-13


2. God miraculously multiplies what is given.


10 He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.

2 Corinthians 9:10


3. You might be a part of God's miraculous provision.


11 You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.

2 Corinthians 9:11


Miracles: A Miracle of Protection


39 The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble.

Psalm 37:39


Long before you face a problem, God already has a plan.


22 The crowd joined in attacking them, and the magistrates tore the garments off them and gave orders to beat them with rods. 23 And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them safely.

Acts 16:22-23


25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, 26 and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened.

Sometimes God's eternal purposes don't align with our temporary plans.
